How to Love People Unconditionally

Confession: I kinda suck at loving people.

And before you hit me with amazing encouragement because you all are seriously the kindest and sweetest people, hear my heart first! I’m currently in a season where God is teaching me to love people the way He loves them and see them the way He sees them, and as soon as He gave me that revelation, it made me realize how poorly I was living my life in this area.

So if you were to ask me what I’m struggling with? That’s it. I’m learning how to love others with a Christ-like love because if we’re honest, loving people can be frustrating and hard. It’s not easy all the time, but that’s why we’re challenged in Luke 6:32-36 when Jesus says,

“If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them.” But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back.”

This is the standard we’ve been called to. We’ve been called to love people unconditionally, sacrificially, with the same kind of love that sent Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. So if you’re struggling and still growing in this area, like me, then I would encourage you to check out my latest interview on the @dressedforbattlepodcast.

And then let me know in the comments what you think! I’d love to have a discussion about this.
